Harmony & balance with nature –
a special retreat in Buenavista de Arriba / Breña Alta
Some properties make an impression.
And some places touch you immediately.
The moment you step onto this extraordinary estate, you sense that something here is different.
An avenue of towering old pine trees on one side and majestic Washingtonia palms on the other welcomes you like the entrance to another world. Sounds fade away, the view opens up, the pace changes.
What the owners have created here is far more than a house with a garden.
It is a harmonious retreat in harmony with nature – a place of tranquillity, beauty and inspiration.
Situated at an altitude of around 500 metres, above Santa Cruz de La Palma, this lovingly designed property offers unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean, the neighbouring islands of Tenerife and La Gomera, and the green landscape of Breña Alta. Despite the exceptionally peaceful location, the island’s hospital, shops, restaurants, the airport and the capital are all just a few minutes’ drive away.
A GARDEN LIKE A PRIVATE BOTANICAL PARK
The fully enclosed plot of approximately 2,424 m² has been designed over the years with a keen eye for colours, shapes and atmosphere. Parts of the garden are modelled on the famous Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech – one repeatedly encounters intense shades of blue and yellow, water features, tropical plants and surprising sightlines.
Amidst old pine trees, palm trees and subtropical vegetation, ever-changing little retreats emerge on several levels. Water, shade, natural stone and lush greenery create an almost meditative atmosphere.
The garden is home to, amongst other things:
-
Mangoes
-
Avocados
-
Persimmons
-
Oranges
-
Lemons
-
Figs
-
Pears
-
Olives
-
Red peppers
-
Bananas and numerous subtropical plants
A lovingly integrated water feature with flowing water and ornamental fish adds movement, reflections and a soothing natural sound to the garden – a detail that further enhances the exceptionally relaxed atmosphere of this place.
An automatic irrigation system efficiently supplies the property with water. Mature trees create an exceptionally pleasant microclimate and natural privacy.
THE CENTREPIECE: THE LIGHT-FILLED CONSERVATORY
The two originally separate residential buildings have been combined into a luxurious whole with the utmost taste.
At the heart of it all is a spectacular conservatory with a fully glazed roof and generous glass fronts – a space full of light, tranquillity and atmosphere. Here, the indoor and outdoor areas almost merge into one another. The view sweeps over the garden, palm trees and the Atlantic, whilst the light changes constantly throughout the day.
This space is far more than just a conservatory.
It is a lounge, a retreat, a social space and the heart of the home all at once.
The single-storey residential property, with a built-up area of approx. 147.80 m², underwent extensive, high-quality renovation between 2022 and 2024.
The fittings combine modern technology with warmth, atmosphere and individuality.
The property features, amongst other things:

A PLACE FOR PEOPLE SEEKING ATMOSPHERE
This special property is aimed at people who are not simply looking for a house, but a place where they can breathe a sigh of relief.
At people with an appreciation for atmosphere, nature, design and tranquillity. At people who would rather hear birdsong than traffic in the morning, who might like to entertain friends or family, design the garden, read under old trees or end the day with a view of the Atlantic.
An ideal place for nature lovers, creative people, those seeking peace and quiet, or anyone wishing to live a life that blends European comfort with subtropical ease.
Not a traditional holiday home.
Not an ordinary country house.
But a very personal place with soul.
